- This Personal Information Collection Statement is provided to comply with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong.

Personal data provided by you to City University of Hong Kong ("CityUHK") through visiting this website and through the purchasing procedures on this website will be used for the following purposes:
- To process your purchase orders and online payments;
- To provide you with relevant product information and services;
- To deliver the purchased products and offer customer support services by courier company, if appropriate;
- To improve products, services, design and/or content of this website;
- To conduct market analysis and research;
- To handle complaints and enquiries; and
- Other purposes directly relating to any of the above.
- You are required to provide your personal data, other than those items indicated as optional. Failure to provide such data may lead to inability to process your purchase orders or maintain contact with you.
- This website will direct you to CityUHK Pay for online payment for your purchase order. By using CityUHK Pay, you agree to provide your personal and payment account details to CityUHK Pay. Your details will be fully encrypted and solely used to process transactions that you have initiated on CityUHK Pay's systems.
- This website uses cookies to record visits without collecting any personal identifiable information of users. The statistics and information collected will be used for managing and improving the design and functions of this website. CityUHK will keep your personal data confidential and only authorised members will have access to and handle your personal data. CityUHK may transfer your personal information to any of the following classes of persons (whether located locally or overseas) in connection with the purposes set out in paragraph 2 above:
- any subsidiary and affiliated companies of CityUHK;
- any third party directly related to your purchase orders and delivery of the products (e.g. product suppliers);
- any third party or agent situated in Hong Kong or overseas including our agents or contractors who provide delivery, administrative, data processing, research and marking, distribution, telecommunications, professional or other similar services to us;
- any government or law enforcement authority or agency, or in good faith to any other parties that the disclosure is necessary or advisable including and without limitation to protect CityUHK's interests, rights, properties and reputation (e.g. the media); and
- any other person to whom the University considers appropriate to disclose to in connection with the purposes set out in paragraph 2 above.
- CityUHK takes reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misappropriation, unauthorised access or destruction of your data. CityUHK also takes reasonable steps to ensure that all personal data held by it is accurate, complete, correct and reliable for the intended use.
- Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you have a right to request access to, and to request correction of, your personal data. CityUHK reserves the right to charge a reasonable fee for the processing of any data access request. Please address your request to Data Protection Officer at data.protection@cityu.edu.hk.
- CityUHK reserves the right to update the PICS in its sole discretion without prior notice. The amended PICS is effective from the date they are published on this website.
